Beginner's Tutorial: A Complete Zetapets Walkthrough

Hi there! I'm Giggles, the Trieco! You may have met my cousin, Tiggles. Anyway, this walkthrough has everything you need and is very useful for newbies and older players alike! Let's get started!

 Chapter 1: Getting Started

The first thing you want to do is activate your account to confirm your email address. If an email with the activation code is not recieved, you either put in the wrong email address, it's in your junk mail, or there are some minor techincal difficulties. Contact the staff if you're having problems recieving your activation code and it's not in your junkmail or inbox.

After putting in the four-number code into the activation box, you can then freely explore Zetapets. Go to Pets first to create/adopt your first pet.

If you choose to adopt a pet with no family, go to the Golden Valley where there are two sections: abandoning or adopting. Choose adopt, NEVER abandon. Click on a pet you wish to care for. After paying a small fee, you can then feed, play, and battle with your pet.

If you want to create a pet, go to Create a Pet where there are many species to choose from and a wide selection of ten basic colors: red, orange, green, blue, purple, pink, and brown. You may have seen pets with rarer colors, including gold, arctic, and shadow. Those colors are only availiable through special Water Distillers and are more expensive than the other basic colors.

After choosing and naming your pet, you will have to take a little "quiz" in order to finish the proccess. This personality quiz decides your pet's hit points, intellegence, strength, speed, and abilites to make your pet more unique. After successfully creating your pet, it will start out as a baby, either being pink or blue depending on its gender.

You'll then notice your pet is hungry. Taking care of a pet is alot of work and costs zetapoints, right? Of course it does, but there is one way that's completely free and is an incredible way of caring for your pet. Go to Nirvana, the land of peace and harmony, and visit the Shining River. All of your current pets' health and happines will be fully restored. You can visit this river any time you want! You can also get free food daily if you have under 2000 points.

Now before getting more pets, explore Zetapets a little and get to know it better. Follow the rest of this tutorial for hints, tips, and more.

Chapter 2: Zetapoints and Items

Zetapoints, the national currency of Sentrion, is what everyone wants! But in every pet game, making money is no easy task. You'll have to earn them by playing games, doing tasks, random events, contests, etc.

Start off by taking the points you currently have and open up a bank account in Zetapolis. Put in your made-up Sentrion address and deposit all of your extra points except for 500. As you make more zetapoints and make deposits, you'll eventually be able to collect 5% daily interest!

Use the extra 500 points to open up your user shop. With you user shop, you can stock items you don't need or want and have other users purchase them from you. Name your shop, add a description (or html for special background effects) and choose your colors and shopkeeper.

To stock an item, go to your inventory and click on the item you want to sell. A popup window will appear. If it doesn't, you'll have to temporarily disable your current popup blocker that's installed in your computer or press the Ctrl key on your keyboard and hold it until the popup appears.

There will be a drop-down menu with a list of actions for you to choose from. Click on Stock. Repeat this proccess with the rest of the items you want to put in your shop.

When you see your shop from the public view you'll notice your items don't show up. Go to your Inventory again and then click on My Shop. There will be a list of all the items you stocked up. You'll notice they all say 0. Replace those 0's with the prices you want. You should always make your prices reasonable. If it gets too high, people won't buy anything from you. Price it at more of a bargain, so more people will come to your shop. For more of a background on pricing, check out the Shop Scouter. If you only want to display an item, price it at 200,000 zetapoints and it will automatically become a gallery item.

After pricing your items, people will check out your shop and you'll eventually have some zetapoints stored in your Shop Till. Visit your till frequently to see if you've made some money so far. :) Keep restocking as much as possible to get more people buying at your shop.

Remember to keep putting your zetapoints in the bank and collecting interest as you go higher! If you keep saving up, you'll eventually get to buy one of those rare or expensive items everyone's talking about. Water Distillers are a great collector's item, but we'll talk about that later...

Chapter 3: Interactions

Go to the Swap Center to trade items. To look for a specific item, scroll down to see a drop-down menu below. You can either search by the stand ID, the trader (username), the item name, or newest thirty stands. You can also create your own stand by clicking here.

To get a certain item you can offer your own items or zetapoints. Make it good so that the trader will want it. Bronze scimitars, Bread Loafs, and Colored Pencils won't work. That's obviously something everyone has from the Zetapets newbie pack.

more coming soon...

Chapter 4: Communicating

Zetamail, or zmail, is a great way to communicate with people. You can also send them club requests, ask questions, or just have your own private chat. But be careful, because ALL rules still apply to mailing.

If someone you don't know is offering you a program on making money or items, report them right away. Some people will take advantage of newbies and offer these deals, along with pretending to be staff and asking for your password so your "account stays safe" during a "techincal difficulty". Don't trust them! Remember: A STAFF MEMBER WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD!

Now it's time to talk about the Forums and Polls. The Forums are a really fun place to chat, share ideas, advertise fansites or clubs, etc. There are seven categories: Battle, Shops, Trades, Newbies, Games, Stocks, General, Help, RP, Ideas, and Ads. The ones highlighted in bold are the message boards we suggest you go to first. Always post the right board in the right category and all rules still apply to them too so don't forget.

The Polls are for sharing your ideas through voting. Never do the same poll more than once or your account will be ICED. Also, be honest, because everyone's opinion counts.

Now it's time to get started on Clubs. Clubs are really fun; you get to know more people and chat with them too! You'll also be given the opporitunity to participate in contests and giveaways as well by the club owner. You can either choose to join a club or create one of your own. If you're already in a club and want to create one, you'll need to resign yourself from it before you can go on.

You will be brought to a screen where you'll have to think of the club name, front page, slogan, and colors. You can also add html to your front page for cool affects or layout. Once your club is created, you can start inviting members to your club. Unless it's a Secret Club, anyone can join at their own free will. Secret Clubs can only be joined if that person is requested to do so.

You can also add polls, chat in your club's forums, hold contests, add news, etc. Also, depending on the genre or theme of the club, more members will eventually start joining along with a little bit of requesting and sending invites. The more members you have, the higher it goes on the list.

Chapter 5: Games

Now it's time to do what everyone does to get money... games! There aren't so many right now, but you can get free zetapoints every two hours, play Keno three times a day if you're feeling lucky, or play Sealed (for those of you who'd enjoy a challenging puzzle!) ;) As Zetapets' community grows, there will soon be tons of games and more activities for you to do! So keep your eye open for new updates!
