Html, which stands for hyper text markup language, is used for making webpages and/or adding additional things like background pics, music, colors, etc. It is very simple once you get to understand the basics. Below is a guide that will take you through, step-by-step, the basics of html.
Basics Formatting your text is very easy and simple once you learn it. For example, when making your text bold, surround your selected amount of words with <b> and </b>. Remember that you'll always need to end it with a / in front of the b or the rest of your entire page will be in bold print. bold italic underlined To do more than one format, surround your text with more than one script. For example, if you want to make your text both bold and italized, surround your selected word with <b><i> and </b></i>. The rule stays the same with the / no matter how many scripts you're using. bold italic underlined italic underlined bold bold underlined italic To add a break in your page (starting a new line), all you have to do is put in this simple code: You can put as many as you want, depending on how many lines you want your paragraph(s) apart.
Colors Colors require using special color codes called hexes. Click here for a chart of hexes that you can use. colored text! :D You can also change the color of borders, backgroungs, links, etc. More coming soon.
Images To insert an image, you must have the image url to put into the code. Putting images into your page is very simple. To do a background image, put in this code:
Links Links are shortucuts that lead you from one page to another. Every webpage has its own url address, which can be used to link to from another page. An email link is very simple. All you have to do is put the words "mailto:(your email here)" in the code. To make an image link, combine the image code and the link code.
